How effective are the motorcycle training courses?
That really depends on several factors:
- the competence and ability of the training instructors
- the professionalism of the training school
- your ability to absorb the training instructions.
When choosing a motorcycle training school, make sure you choose a well-established school that offers fully qualified, DSA approved instructors and has access to a large training site where you can practice your manoeuvres. Ask about their covid-19 safety procedures, whether they offer motorbikes to train on and whether courses are tailored to individual requirements.
The rest as they say, is down to you!
How long does it take to learn how to ride a motorcycle?

A legal requirement for all provisional motorcycle licence holders is to take Compulsory Basic Training (CBT). Your CBT will ensure that you fully understand the basics of motorcycle riding.
CBT courses follow a Driving Standards Agency course where you will be taught by approved instructors. The course is specifically laid out to take you from being a complete novice to a competent learner motorcyclist in 1-2 days (depending on your ability).
