The coronavirus pandemic has led to businesses having to adapt their ways of working to ensure customers and staff remain safe at all times. At Avsco Bike Courses, provider of Watford motorcycles training, we are no exception and have implemented strict safety procedures at our training school and training site to protect the wellbeing of anyone who takes a CBT course.
Our Watford based training school is now OPEN for CBT courses; we are taking bookings online and by phone. If you’re thinking about taking the plunge and moving to 2 wheels, then now is the perfect time! There’s no better way to travel than by motorcycle, particularly during this time of social distancing. What’s more, you’re guaranteed to beat the traffic and avoid public transport.
In this article we explain the steps we have taken to ensure our motorcycle training school is as safe as possible.
Watford Motorcycles Training School Safety
The day before your training, you will receive a text message alert with your expected arrival time at the training school. We will stagger the arrival times of trainees to ensure social distancing is adhered to at all times. Please note that if you do arrive early, you will be asked to wait outside until it is safe to enter the premises.
NB: if you are displaying coronavirus symptoms we will have to ask you to leave the site. Don’t worry – we will ensure you have a rescheduled training date as soon as is convenient for you.
The coronavirus outbreak has led to the implementation of additional measures such as the issue of plastic safety gloves for you to wear underneath your own motorcycle training gloves. We also ask that you bring your own motorcycle helmet to the training course if possible. If you do not own a motorcycle helmet, don’t worry you can borrow a helmet from us. Rest assured that we disinfect ALL motorcycle helmets at the end of each training day.
Once checked in, one of our friendly instructors will transport you to the training site in Harrow.
Watford Motorcycles Training Site
When choosing a motorcycle training school, it is important to choose one which has access to a good sized training site where you can practice the required technique and manoeuvres in a safe and controlled environment.
At Avsco Bike Courses we are very lucky to have exclusive use of a 300m2 training site at Fullerians Rugby Club where we can safely practice all the required exercises. Furthermore, we have exclusive access to the DVSA exam site at weekends, where you can practice on the actual tarmac where you will be taking your MOD 1 test.
Upon arrival at the training site we will take you through the mandatory Off-Road checks. These checks are led outside to ensure the safety of our trainees, and staff.
Office Safety
Once you have completed your CBT course, we will take you back to the office to receive your CBT certificate. Our trainees will be seated in a separate seating area to the rest of the office. We also have displayed social distancing and Be Alert signs throughout the office to remind customers and staff of the rules.
We want to assure you that NO training takes place indoors.
