Experience the thrill of riding a motorbike in 2023

If you are surrounded by avid motorbike fans, you will often hear them talk about how much they love to ride their motorbike and how much better it has made their lives. Whether they get to work faster, blow out the cobwebs and reduce stress or simply get out onto the open road as a hobby, riding a motorbike offers a lot of thrills. If you are considering whether you should learn to ride a motorbike in 2023, AVSCO gives you some of the reasons why you won’t regret making the decision to ride.

Not only can riding a motorbike give you a thrill, but it is also incredibly beneficial to our physical and mental health. The fresh air and freedom we no doubt experience when we learn to ride a motorbike can release happy hormones into our system, which can improve our moods, and our pleasure and will help to minimise any pain we are feeling. Riding a motorbike also gives us a chance to be at one with ourselves, where we are able to check our feelings and emotions and work out what is going on with us internally. With all the stress we have had to deal with over the past couple of years, this is a really important tool to use for your mental health. Lastly, riding a motorbike can help you to calm your mind and release any tension you may be feeling. As you need concentration and focus when riding your bike, you don’t have a chance to think about your anxiety as you will be too busy concentrating on the road!

Commute to your place of work faster when you learn to ride

We all know that traffic is a huge issue in the South East of England currently. Without the problems we are currently seeing on the M25, infrastructure and residential areas are being built quickly and often without roads to help support the increase in traffic and people. If you have to commute daily to your place of work, you will definitely understand the struggle of traffic and queuing. This often means you have to leave earlier in the morning and you don’t get home until much later in the evening. You miss out on valuable time with family, and sitting in traffic can leave you feeling angry and stressed. Traffic analyst Inrix conducted a survey that showed the average Brit sitting in 115 hours worth of traffic in 2019 alone, with speeds in London being around 10mph.

If you are sick of sitting in traffic and would like to spend more time at home, why not learn to ride a motorbike in 2023? Whilst motorbikes need to follow the same highway code as car drivers, motorbikes are able to weave safely in and out of a line of traffic – something a car simply couldn’t do! Not only will you be able to commute to and from work faster, but you will also feel much better when you get to work, and you will be doing your bit to help save our planet as motorbikes produce fewer carbon emissions than cars.

Save money in 2023 when you learn to ride a motorbike

With the UK set to hit some sort of recession in the coming months, we are all looking at ways to save pennies and pounds, so we don’t find paying our bills such a challenge. If you learn to ride a motorbike, you will find that you definitely save money over driving your car to and from wherever you are going. Taking care of your motorbike will not cost you as much money as looking after your car for a variety of reasons.

Much better mileage from your tank of fuel – it seems obvious, but your motorbike petrol tank is smaller than your car tank and, therefore, will be much cheaper to fill up. Your motorbike will also get great miles per gallon, meaning you can travel further on a tank of fuel than you would in your car.

Motorbike maintenance is much cheaper – the current legal cost of an MOT on a motorbike is set at £29.65*, whereas the cost of an MOT for your car is set at over £54.00. Not only is an MOT on a motorbike cheaper, but the cost of maintenance and upkeep will also be more cost-effective as a motorbike is smaller and, therefore, (in most cases) a simpler machine than its 4-wheeled counterpart.

Insurance and tax are more cost-effective – Insurance and road tax are constantly rising to battle an increase in road accidents and to support the upkeep of roads across the UK. Generally speaking, motorbike road tax is far more cost-effective than the average car, with prices starting at around £22, and insurance is often cheaper thanks to being able to protect your motorbike in a locked place overnight. According to data collected by Compare the Market, the average car insurance is currently £571, whereas the premium for a motorbike is up to 30% less at £435.00 per year.
